The Route:
The 14-day journey begins in Kathmandu, where you settle in and visit the Pashupatinath, Gyuheshwari and Jalnarayan temples before the overland leg starts. From there, the group travels through Shyabrubesi and crosses into Tibet at Kyirong, where a local Tibetan guide joins for the rest of the route. The path continues through Saga toward Lake Mansarovar, where pilgrims take the ceremonial bath, before reaching Darchen, the base for the Parikrama around Mount Kailash itself.

Built Around the Altitude, Not Against It:
The Parikrama covers close to 42 kilometers over three days, including the climb to Dolma Pass above 5,600 meters. Rather than rushing this stretch, the itinerary includes rest and acclimatization days at Kyirong and again before the trek begins, because altitude, not distance, is what makes or breaks this yatra. Pilgrims who’d rather not walk the full circuit can turn back at Darchen, and horses or porters can be arranged for those who need them.
